U.S. plane carrying Special Forces makes emergency landing on a road in Uganda

This will remind you a famous scene of “Lord of War” movie.

On Jul. 18, a Construcciones Aeronauticas SA Casa 212-200, N604AR flying from Entebbe International to Juba, in South Sudan, performed a successful emergency landing on a road in Kiwawu, in the Mityana district.

The aircraft experienced technical problems while enroute but ran out of fuel while returning back to Entebbe.

Fortunately, the pilots managed to perform a successful landing: the C212 was not damaged and the 9 people on board were not injured.

U.S. special forces are quite active in South Sudan and, generally speaking, in Africa. In such region, in order to keep a “low profile” and appear similar to general aviation aircraft during their clandestine missions, most of these special planes (civil registered aircraft used for military purposes) are painted in light gray or in white, as genral aviation/civilian planes.
